Manufacturing production in the Philippines saw a year-on-year increase of 1.9% in December 2025, representing a rebound from a recently revised 1% decline in November. This upswing marks the highest level since August, primarily fueled by a significant annual growth in the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products, which surged to 29.5% from 4.4% in November, adding 23.2% to the overall rise in manufacturing production. Recovery was also observed in the sectors of machinery and equipment excluding electrical components, which improved to 9.7% from a previous -11.1%, as well as in other manufacturing and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, which rose to 13.8% from -4.4%. Additionally, the output for transport equipment increased, up to 6.7% from 0.2%. However, there was a deceleration in production growth for leather and related products, which fell to 4.6% from 27.7%, and for wood, bamboo, cane, and rattan products, which decreased to 3.4% from 17.5%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity experienced a 4.7% rise, bouncing back from a 3.2% drop in the previous month.
